A ponytail!

Photobucket

I was actually able to get Adeline's hair in a ponytail! It seems like her hair is growing pretty fast. It didn't look this good for very long though. Adeline will be 20 months this week. It seems as though she is aproaching the "terrible two's" very quickly. She is still the fun, sweet, loving girl she has always been.... but with quite a few more tantrums and independence. There are days where she is already picking out her clothes and shoes and will not accept anything else. My latest battle (what a surprise) is her eating habits. Some days I feel like she hardly eats anything. She grazes throughout the day and eats bits and pieces, but that is about it. I swear if someone else were to take her for the day, she would probably eat for them. I think she is just rebeling against me. I am worried since she is already so little.... she needs to be gaining weight! I even tried to give her a Chocolate Breakfast smoothie thing, because the doc said it's good to give them those since they have a lot of calories. She didn't want ANYTHING to do with it. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on getting their toddler to eat? Do others have this problem?

I have the same problem with Chase. All he ever wants is cookies and it has to be an oreo cookie. I have no advice yet and would love to hear the advice you get. She looks so big with her ponytail.

That's so fun that her hair is long enough for a ponytail. So cute. I will be happy when Graces bald spot finally grows in. I wish I had some advice on eating. I think girls are much different than boys. But for a long time we would have Thomas' favorite show on the lab top in from of him and we could just shovel in whatever we wanted and he hardly noticed it. Now he is use to most tastes so it is getting better. We definitely have our days, but for breakfast he loved instant oatmeal brown sugar kind, lunch we'd do some sandwhich, hot dog, or mac and cheese, dinner he ate whatever we were with some modifications. He's always loved the fruits like banannas, apple sauce, but veggies were hard. All he would eat was peas and corn. Now he'll take carrots we're still working on other stuff. But yea the tv really helped us, but I am not sure that girls zone out as much as boys, because they want to control what's going in their mouth more.

I heard my friends talking about this stuff. They said to just add calories wherever you can. Like adding butter to toast, or peanut butter or cream cheese, drink whole milk, chocolate milk, cheese with crackers or peanut butter. I am sure there were more. The point was to add good stuff to things she might eat. Hope that helps a little.

You're not the only one! Allie was just like that.....and still kind of is. I was like that up until I was out of high school (soo picky)!
We try to make Allie try most things that we are eating....except for the tougher meats. Other than that... I don't know what to do either. If she's hungry she'll eat though....

The ponytail is adorable!

Allie is wanting to play with Adeline again too. Talk to you soon about getting them together!

love the ponytail! sol is doing the same thing with eating. i think it might just be a stage, i don't know. i swear i have to trick sol into eating and give lots and lots of encouragement- yummy, yummy, isn't this good, sol? i swear i burn more calories getting him to eat than what he eats sometimes!

Kids love to dip things! Give her ranch and she will start dipping away.

I have had the same problem with my youngest Tavi since she was about 20 months old. She is still a grazer. She is also small so I was worried when it started, but she is still gaining weight and doing really great. I just make sure I add on the calories to the food she grazes on and she is gaining weight and doing good. Adeline is perfectly normal! She looks so cute with her ponytail I still cant do that with Tavi's hair and she'll be 3 next friday! So jealous!

Adeline is so cute and looking so grown up! I can't wait to start doing Nash's hair. It sounds like toddlers being very picky about their food is quite common. Good luck. Maybe by the time I'm there, you'll have some advice for me.

I have a problem with Ang that way. She's so tiny too, and has been such a finicky eater. Just personality I guess. She likes butter by the handfuls and peanut butter. She likes avacados (good fat). So, I don't know...I just do whatever I can to get her to eat often. It's hard when they seem to have a really high metabolism, and are just too busy to stop and eat.
