Watching baby brother

Sometimes the girls "watch" Anders for a couple minutes for me while I take a shower or something. This little man is pretty lucky to have 3 extra mommies. Maybe not always the most helpful "mommies" at this point!

Adeline's Spa Birthday Party

Adeline has been trying to decide for months what she wanted to do for a birthday party. She wanted to look through pictures of girl parties on pinterest and fell in love with the idea of having a spa birthday party. I didn't want to do too much planning since Anders was just over a month old at the time of her party.



We had two stations for the girls. One where they got to tie ribbons and decorate flip flops and the other was getting manicures and pedicures. Thankfully two of the other moms stayed around and helped out!!





Adeline was super excited about finding party favors for her friends and then decorating the table of course!









I felt a little bad because when it was time to sing Happy Birthday, I realized I didn't have a single candle in the house except for number candles. I chose the "6" since it was the closest age to what she was turning. Mom fail!

Adeline turned 7!

Adeline was counting down the days till her birthday for quite some time. She was a lucky girl to have her aunt Abbi and Grandma and Grandpa Barker there to celebrate her special day with her. First thing in the morning, we whipped up some pancakes for her. It is a tradition that on birthday mornings, whomever's birthday it is gets a pile of pancakes with candles in them. Of course we also sing the birthday song!! Her birthday landed on a Sunday and that happened to be the same Sunday that we had Anders' blessing. It was a little chaotic in the morning trying to get everyone ready for church and do the pancake thing, but it all worked out.








That evening, we also had our good friends the Petersons over for a BBQ, cake, water balloon fights and presents. It was fun to spend a little bit more time with them before their big move. Our kids were always around each other since we lived on the same street and we were not happy to let them go!











All day Meika kept saying, "It's my birthday!". We had to keep reminding her that it was not her birthday until January and that we were celebrating Adeline's birthday. Of course when we were singing happy birthday, Meika was getting really excited. She started blowing out the candles before Adeline and succeeded in blowing out a couple for her. Adeline got a little angry and of course Meika did too!





















It is always a little bit of a struggle getting a good picture of a group of kids. I laugh at this series of pictures. How did Norah become such a goofball?!

Anders' 3 week Appointment and pictures at one month old

It was crazy to me that Anders had gained about two pounds in just 3 short weeks! He was super sleepy his first several weeks and I think a lot of that was due to having jaundice. From the start, he has given me a somewhat of a decent stretch the first part of the night. I completely planned on him being colicky and fussy like my other three babies. To our surprise, he was completely mellow the first month, which was really nice! Of course he has his fussy moments, but overall is a pretty easy baby. His most awake times were first thing in the morning and sometime between 10-12pm. We would just lay with him in our bed before we went to sleep and would stare and admire him. When he is sleeping he is completely silent and doesn't make very much noise. When he is awake, he loves to make little quiet whining noises that are so cute.

I decided that every month I am going to take a picture of Anders in a basket with his little Giraffe lovey. I think it will be fun to see how much he grows by looking at these pictures. Here he is at just over a month old!
