Yet another snow day...

Yesterday I was pretty surprised when Abe decided to get back in bed instead of go to work... well school. They had closed base AGAIN! It wasn't even snowing! I guess that the day before it had snowed so much and was so icy that it was hard to get the parking lots cleared. Whatever it was, it was nice for Abe to have another day off. We decided to go up to Mad River Mountain Ski Resort all day with two of our other couple friends.... and our little kiddos. We had such a blast. We had Adeline ski for the first time in her life. It was so much fun to watch her. The first couple runs she was a little grumpy. We looked like we were torturing her since she was screaming as she was going down the hill. However, once she saw her friend Allie, she cheered up and decided that it was actually fun. They were hilarious. I had a leash on Adeline so she wouldn't head down the hill by herself, but I didn't even have to use it that much. She would stand up and go all by herself.

Snow days

It has been snowing like crazy here. Apparently most schools were closed yesterday even though it was just the start of the storm and there wasn't too much snow on the ground. Abe still had to go to school. However today it seems like everything is closed. After it snowed all day yesterday, we had an ice storm last night... and then it started snowing again. So we have snow, then ice, now snow again. Doesn't sound like the best driving conditions.

I thought Adeline would like being out in the snow yesterday while I shoveled some driveways. She just cried the entire time and ripped off her gloves. Maybe next time she will like it better when she is getting attention.

Adeline loved sitting by the window yesterday to watch the snow fall and see the kids playing outside.

Today I am pretty sore. I went to a mommy and baby workout class on base yesterday. I have gone a handful of times, but never regularly... but I need to! It is such a good workout and because it is on base, it is FREE! You bring your kids and they pretty much run around in the room while you get your butt kicked. Yesterday as soon as we got there, the instructor (who is like a boot camp instructor) sent us to the spinning room to do some spinning classes. What a workout!

Well, I guess I get a nice relaxing day with my husband home.... that means a little Wii time! (even though Abe is stressed out because he needs to get work done.... maybe he will sneak on base anyway:)

Good potty training method?

Adeline is only 17 months old, so probably not quite ready for potty training. However, I think that if I try pretty hard, that she will catch on quickly. I have decided to let her either be naked for part of the day, or put little panties on her. Does she go in the potty...? No, but I figure if she starts peeing on herself, etc, that she may figure it out. I may be completely crazy and this might not work at all, or I might get fed up with it.

This is what I get for trying this....

Give me back Adeline!

Before I go into talking about grumpy little Adeliene :), she did something kind of funny early this morning. I was getting ready for the day and I let Adeline sit on my bathroom counter and play with my makeup, toothpaste, etc. She grabbed my deodorant and said something to me... not quite sure what she said, most of it is gibberish right now. Then she proceeded to open up the top of her shirt and stick the deodorant in her armpit! Wow, Adeline pays very close attention to everything that I do. It was pretty funny.

So, Adeline finally got over her sickness.... but this morning her 14th tooth broke through her gums. She was a little grumpy this morning. We went over to my friend Alexis's house this morning so Adeline could play with Catherine. She was a little irritable, but not too bad.

Once I got in the car to go back home, Adeline had a total meltdown in the car. The rest of the day has been downhill. I have NEVER seen Adeline this bad... EVER! She didn't stop whining or screaming the whole day. As you can see in this video, she was even crying while eating her yogurt for lunch. Poor thing, her tooth keeps pushing through and it's *hopefully* just killing her. And I say that not because I want her to be in pain, but hopefully it is the reason for how hard she has been today and that I will get my Adeline back! I even put her in "time out" today, which I never really do, but should start doing it. Abe said, "If she can understand putting on deodorant, she can understand time out!". True, but when I put her in time out, she laughed and then began to throw another tantrum. By the end she finally gave me a kiss and hug. Later on I threatened her that I was going to put her in time out and she gleefully ran to the stairs (where I put her in time out) and put her self in time out laughing. Oh jeez.

On a side note, It is FREEZING here today... only 1 degree, probably minus by now. My fingers almost snapped off while loading my groceries into my car. Here is a pretty cute picture of Chloe laying by the window today.

Yesterday we had a storm. Not a big storm, but apparently pretty big for around here. Abe showed up at home at 2pm because the entire base shut down because of the snow. Schools were cancelled, businesses shut down, etc. Come on people, it's not that big of a deal! Our neighbor was nice enough to snow blow the 2 inches off our driveway, so when Abe got home he shoveled a couple of our other neighbor's driveways. Adeline enjoying watching him out the window.

Hopefully you guys aren't freezing too!! Haha, notice Abe is wearing shorts. That was yesterday before we started freezing to death.

Poor Baby

During Sacrament Meeting yesterday, Adeline had a blowout all over her church clothes. Luckily, my good friend Alexis had extra clothes for Adeline. All day after that, it was blowout after blowout. She gets the runs pretty bad when she is getting teeth, so I was crossing my fingers that that's all it was. Last night at 2am I went into Adeline's room and she had poop all the way up her stomach and neck. So she had a little bath and I put her back down. Adeline slept until 11:00am this morning and of course was very hungry after not eating anything all day yesterday and having the runs. So I gave her a bottle and some juice. She wanted to eat, but once she saw food, she couldn't get herself to eat it. She layed on my shoulder for about 10 minutes (which is totally unusual for her) and then lifted up her head and threw up all over me. SO, she is SICK! Poor little baby. We took a bath together and I let her lay on the couch and watch cartoons... which is also unusual because she normally won't sit still for more than a minute. She is now sleeping sound on the couch. Hopefully she gets better soon! Don't worry, Chloe is taking really good care of her :)

Watch out Europe, here we come!

Well, we won't be going until September, but we are really excited about it! We just got our backpacks today and had fun trying them on and inspecting them. Abe even carried Adeline around in his for a little bit.

The best part about getting the backpacks in the mail.... well at least for Adeline.... A new playhouse!!

A little project I just finished was this little side table. I bought it for $10 at a used kid store and I think it turned out really cute!

Happy Happy Birthday

Yesterday was Abe's 29th birthday. I wanted to do a post yesterday, but it ended up getting too late. For the big event, we were originally planning on staying home and eating steaks (Abe's favorite). My neighbor insisted that she watch Adeline so we could go out. Of course we took her up on her offer! After we went out, we came back home with Adeline to open presents and eat cake. I made the cake for Abe and I can honestly say it was the ugliest cake I have ever made. Probably the ugliest cake I have ever seen. Needless to say, it was still really good. Adeline was pretty cute all last night. She kept trying to sing "Happy Birthday", but of course you couldn't understand any of it. She did the melody pretty well though!

Abe of course was against me posting anything about him, but I can't resist. I am so lucky to have such a great husband and best friend. Next year we will have to throw a bash for the big 3-0! Happy Birthday Abe!!

Here is Adeline the other day with crazy hair. What a goof

We are back

After a wonderful 2 weeks in Utah for Christmas break, we are finally back at home! My friend Alexis was nice enough to pick us up from the airport just before 1 am tonight.... ugh. Adeline didn't sleep at all on either of the flights. The second flight from Denver was an hour delayed because a guy mouthed off to the flight attendant and so his four kids, wife and the guy were all escorted off the plane by a cop. Pretty weird. Anyway, it is about 3 am and I should be going to bed. I will post pictures of our trip tomorrow!
