Anniversary, King's Island & Gatlinburg

This past week I keep meaning to post pictures as things happen, and then I don't get around to it. So sorry this post is going to be so long since so much has happened.

First of all, today was our 3 year anniversary!! It's crazy how the time flies. Abe is such a great husband and I am so lucky to be married to him. We have had so much fun the past three years.

Tonight we actually hired a babysitter for the first time and went out on a date! We went to a yummy Sushi/Japanese/Korean restaraunt and then went to "Dark Knight". That was the first movie I have been to in a year and a half. Let's just say we were definately in need of a date. Here is the only picture we took tonight.

This last week was pretty eventful. On Monday and Tuesday Abe's dad came in town so that he could help Mori (Abe's brother) drive back to Utah. It was fun spending a little bit more time with him. On Tuesday, Mori, Dale and us all went to King's Island, which is an amusement park by us. It was so much fun! The first 3 rides I joined Abe and Mori and after that, I was done. Those rides are pretty crazy. Before we left the park, we were able to take Adeline on a couple baby rides. She loved it there!!

Over the weekend we went on a little trip with Rob and Kim. The first night we camped at the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. It was so beautiful there! While we were there, Adeline loved to play in the dirt. She bumped her head on the ground several times and created a pretty good mark. She loved it though. Her thing lately is that she loves to do tripods. Every time we say "tripod", she all the sudden leans over and stands on her head. Of course Rob and Abe kept telling her to do it on our hike, so she was getting dirt and leaves in her hair. Our hike that we went on was so pretty. The boys told Kim and I that we were only going for a three mile hike. Well, it ended up being more like an eight mile hike. By the end, Adeline was loosing it and we were carrying Chloe because she was so tired. It was worth it though!

Rob & Kim

The next two nights we stayed at a little cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN, which is right next to Gatlinburg. It was fun to have our own little cabin and not have to stay in a hotel. Pigeon Forge was pretty much disgusting. It was a ghetto/white trash vegas. Gatlinburg however was a lot better. I wish we could have gone hiking there, but the time went way too fast! It was so fun spending time with Kim and Rob. I loved that Kim is training for a 10 mile race, and was willing to go running with me on Saturday. We ran 8 miles.

Rob and Kim got this onesie for Adeline on the "Pigeon Forge Strip". Can you say, Redneck kid?

Today my friend Anisa and her daughter Avery came over. I met Anisa when we were at Vandenberg Air Force base and I haven't seen them since December. Avery looked so big!

This past week

This past week was pretty fun. We went on a family bike ride to the mall so we could see the puppies in the pet store. Adeline loves it! Since we were there, we ate dinner at the glorious food court. Adeline is doing much better now in the bike trailer. I just have to bring some things to keep her occupied.

We went on a couple walks and Adeline actually pushed and pulled her stroller with her baby in it. That was only a short walk to get our mail though. Our longer walks we keep her strapped in the stroller so it doesn't take us hours.

Our friends the Huber's had baby #2, Avery. We went to the hospital to see her and she was so cute and tiny! Adeline didn't know what to think about her, she just stared. Brooke looked so good and we are so happy for them!

Adeline also attended a birthday party for her friend Sol. Here she is with the darling birthday boy.

We took Adeline to "The Greene" so she could play in the water fountains with all the other kids. The water squirts up pretty high and there were kids running around everywhere, so I think she was a little overwhelmed. She never even got in. Maybe someday :)

It was a fun week! On Saturday night we were able to play games with our friends the Bakers. We planned it so we could just put all the kids/babies to bed and then not worry about them. Rebecca even let me join her on her long run that morning to run the 9 miles I needed to(she was running 19....I would die). I thought I would die running 9, but it was not bad at all with a running partner! Later on I did find out that we only ran about 8.5miles. That's okay. It's still the longest I've ever ran so far. I am running the 1/2 marathon in September with Abe's sister Roni and it is going to come too soon!

Wegerzyn Garden Metro Park

On Tuesday I watched Allie while Brooke had her doctors appointment and her last ultrasound before she has her little baby. Allie and Adeline played so well together. It was fun to see them interact. It was also nice because I didn't have to do anything.... they just played the whole time.

When Brooke came back, we decided to go to Wegerzyn Garden Metro Park. Adeline and Allie both loved playing in the water. It was hard to get them out. Adeline was running in and out of the water and I thought she was going to kill herself. I have decided that I should maybe get a leash :) Besides playing in the water, they also walked through little tunnels, played in a sandbox and looked at all the pretty flowers. They had a blast and we are going to have to go back again before the summer is over.

Sigh of Relief

The last three months (ever since we moved to Ohio) have been stressful because the doctors on base that have seen Adeline are concerned about Adeline's weight. As of June, Adeline no longer "charted" and so they had me go to a Nutritionist and warned me they would possibly do lab tests on her if she doesn't improve by one year. Well, the nutritionist had some good ideas, but overall was pretty ridiculous because she gave me a guilt trip because Adeline's weight is "all my fault". She also let me know that the last doctor Adeline saw deemed her as being "Failure to Thrive", in which the doctor never told me about. So let's just say I haven't been too happy with the doctors/nutritionist here in Ohio because Adeline is NOT failure to thrive. She is a perfectly normal little baby and runs around everywhere.

Today I got a sigh of relief. I went for Adeline's 12 month check up and went to a new doctor, thanks to Shelby for the recommendation. First of all, Adeline weighed in at 16 lbs 14 ounces which is great! That means she has gained over a pound in the last month. Adeline is just barely the 3% for her weight. The doctor is not concerned at all because she has a good growth pattern and is probably just petite. It made me feel so much better! Adeline is 50% for her height and head as well. I felt bad though because Adeline had to get 4 shots and blood work done. Poor little thing! She did so well though and is now resting from all the trauma this morning.

Opening presents

Today Abe and I had Adeline open up her presents from us and we were a little bit surprised with how well she ripped apart the wrapping paper. She was a pro! She was cracking us up because she loved this dog that we gave her. She was dancing out of control and it was hilarious. There is also a little video of Adeline eating her birthday cake

Guess who is one already!!??? Adeline! I can't believe that it has already been one year. Time goes by way too fast. We had a little party with her friends yesterday and I think she had a pretty good time. She was pretty overwhelmed at first, but started warming up after awhile. We had a little BBQ, let the babies play in the pool and opened some presents. Thanks for coming to her party!
Here are some pictures from her big day!

For some reason these two photos didn't work in the slideshow...
