Spring

Photobucket

I LOVE spring. Especially here in Ohio because the temperature is just right and it is not too humid yet. I have been very proud of our front Garden, because it is full of the tulips I planted last Fall and they look so pretty! With all this nice weather, we have been spending a lot of time outside. That is ALL that Adeline asks me to do all day... "outside mommy?" She is very persistent and will ask me until I let her out. Every night I have had to wash her feet because they are covered in grass, leaves and mud. It is pretty pointless now because her feet are stained. I am also having to scrape dirt out of her fingernails every day.

For now, the weather has started getting rainy and looks like it will be this while for the next week or so. I can't wait until I can bring Adeline outside to play again :)

Carriage Hill

On Friday Some of my good friends and I took the kids to Carriage Hill. We are so lucky to have so many MetroParks here in Ohio. This park had a bunch of little barns with Animals, a little lake and we even got some old fashion penny candies at the country store there. It was a blast. You can see more pictures on my photography blog: nicolebarkerphotography.blogspot.com

This weekend the weather has been in the 80s-90's and has been SO nice! We have been able to be outside a lot and enjoy the weather!

Giddy Up

Chloe actually sat on the couch earlier today and let Adeline full on ride her. Adeline was jumping up and down on top of her, hitting her butt and clicking like a horse sound. I think Adeline can't wait to go ride horses this summer with Grandpa.

Finished garden & Funny story

We had the nicest weather over the weekend. I think it was in the low seventies!! We were quite busy. Abe helped a friend move and worked on our garden all day Saturday. A couple weeks ago we started growing vegetables and herbs in our house to get a little head start and it was definitely time to plant them. It looks great and I am so excited for everything to grow! I have been pretty busy with Photography. I had 3 shoots in 3 days this past weekend.

After Abe finished the garden on Saturday him and Adeline were playing outside and laying on the lawn. I was in the house editing pictures on my computer and next thing I know Abe comes in wondering if Adeline was with me. Uh, NO! Gosh, my worst nightmare that she would run out in the street by herself or get taken by someone. Abe claimed that Adeline ran away for a couple of seconds and by the time he stood up she was gone, so he assumed she had come inside. Anyway, Abe started searching for her around the house and couldn't find her. All of a sudden he heard our neighbors laughing. These neighbors are an older couple that LOVE Adeline. They always give her toys, swing with her and most importantly, they have a cat (Adeline is obsessed with cats). So Abe walked over to their house and they had Adeline. She had walked over to their front door and knocked. They heard the knock and opened the door surprised to have a little tiny visitor all by herself! So scary story ended up pretty funny.... but we have to keep our eyes closer on her!

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend with great weather. I think Adeline is officially Egg Hunted out for now. We went to a neighborhood Easter Egg hunt at the park on Saturday and had our own little one on Sunday morning. That means she did 3 hunts this year. Let's just say by the last one she was a pro. Adeline will do pretty much anything for candy and she KNEW there was candy in the eggs. It was probably a disappointment to her after she opened her eggs from her little hunt Sunday morning to only find stickers :) But we did not want to give her any more candy.

Thanks mom for making Adeline's darling Easter dress. She looked so cute in it!

The Past two days...

Two days ago we attended an Easter Egg hunt. Adeline surprisingly loved it and was shoveling eggs into her basket. I thought she was just going to watch all the little kids, but I was wrong. It was fun watching her. Afterwards, of course she wanted to eat the candy. Most of it was chocolate, but she did have an egg full of jelly beans. So I let her have the jelly beans and that was it. (hold that thought until the end of this post...)

Onto that night..... It was about midnight and my sister texted me to see if I was awake, so I called her back right away. We were just going to bed. She started asking me all these questions about my little sister..."has she said anything to you lately?", "when was the last time you talked to her". Uh, what's up? Tell me what you know!! She started going on to tell me that she suspects that she is pregnant.... on and on. So we starting talking about it and I assumed that she is pregnant. Then after a little while of more talking she tells me that she is also pregnant. What!? She has a 5 month old, that is crazy. I couldn't believe it... but did! Then I hear Abe from the bedroom saying "Nicole, it's April Fools Day".... he had heard us talking. Oh crap. She got me again. My sister for the past 5 years at least, has been calling me on April Fools day and totally fools me. I am so gullible! I even warned myself of her when I woke up, but forgot about it at midnight.

On to day #2
Adeline and I met up with our friends at a park on base. It is one of the coolest parks I have ever been to. It was huge and looks like a big wooden castle. Adeline and her friend Allie had a blast and played hard for two hours.

Fast forward to 6 hours later. The same friends came over for dinner and game night (our weekly tradition) with another couple. After dinner and going to the park, we were all just hanging out talking. For some reason I totally wasn't paying attention to Adeline and Allie and realized that they had disappeared a long time ago. I ran upstairs to Adeline's room. As soon as Adeline saw me, she ran across her room into the corner and Allie was just standing there all innocently. Abe for some reason had brought Adeline's easter basket upstairs and left in on the floor in Adeline's room. Remember at the beginning of my post?? It had eggs full of chocolate candy!! There were tons of little chunks of chocolate all over the floor and it was smeared into the carpet. There were empty candy wrappers thrown everywhere. Apparently Adeline knows how to opens candy wrappers. There was even chocolate on her crib, chair and dresser. Of course Allie didn't appear to have any evidence of helping Adeline out, but this is what Adeline looked like:

Naughty!!! Oh, and Adeline just learned the word "MINE" yesterday, GREAT!

A ponytail!

Photobucket

I was actually able to get Adeline's hair in a ponytail! It seems like her hair is growing pretty fast. It didn't look this good for very long though. Adeline will be 20 months this week. It seems as though she is aproaching the "terrible two's" very quickly. She is still the fun, sweet, loving girl she has always been.... but with quite a few more tantrums and independence. There are days where she is already picking out her clothes and shoes and will not accept anything else. My latest battle (what a surprise) is her eating habits. Some days I feel like she hardly eats anything. She grazes throughout the day and eats bits and pieces, but that is about it. I swear if someone else were to take her for the day, she would probably eat for them. I think she is just rebeling against me. I am worried since she is already so little.... she needs to be gaining weight! I even tried to give her a Chocolate Breakfast smoothie thing, because the doc said it's good to give them those since they have a lot of calories. She didn't want ANYTHING to do with it. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on getting their toddler to eat? Do others have this problem?
