Prince Charming

Before I forget, I wanted to document Adeline and Norah's cute conversation a couple of weeks ago.

N: Are you going to get married Adeline?
A: Yes, and so are you!
N: Are you going to marry a BOY Adeline?
A: Yes, and you will marry a boy too.
N: I don't want to marry a boy! I don't like boys!
A: Don't worry Norah. He will be just like Daddy!
N: OK

So sweet. I feel like there has been several occasions where Adeline says something that I don't want to forget, and then I forget it because I don't document it. She is pretty funny. A couple other things that Adeline has said...

While sitting at the table eating, out of nowhere Adeline said, "Mrs. Berlin likes me the best!" (Adeline's teacher). I begin to tell her that I'm sure Mrs. Berlin loves Adeline, but she loves all the other kids too. Adeline said, "I know, but she still likes me the best!"

I can't remember where we were going to take Adeline, but I was hoping to take her. Adeline said to me, "Daddy is going to take me." I told her that I really wanted to take her. "No mom, you are better at watching Norah and Meika than daddy is". Oh, thanks Adeline. Nice save and it makes me feel so much better!

Puppy Fever

I made a friend that lives in my little town and she LOVES Chloe. She is always begging me to go out of town so she can watch her. She has particularly fallen in love with pugs ("mops" in German). She called me up a couple weeks ago to see if I could drive her to go look at some puppies. Well, she ended coming home with one and she is ADORABLE!!

Meet Molly

It kind of makes me want another puppy. At least I can just go to her house and get my puppy fix. Norah is hilarious with the puppy. Whenever we go there, she completely takes over and doesn't let anyone else touch the puppy. She carries her around, wraps her up in blankets, sits in the bed with her... it goes on and on and on. When it's time to leave, she begs to stay. It's also fun that Chloe has a new little friend.

Meika turns 1

This last year has seriously been the fastest year of my life. It feels like yesterday that I had Meika. It makes me want to freeze time. The last week, Meika got her first two bottom teeth, started signing "more" and started officially walking.

Meika's birthday was just an ordinary Sunday for the most part. We made it special by making pink pancakes for dinner along with the forbidden fruit until one year old: Strawberries. She scarfed them down and LOVED them. She also had some bananas and oranges.


After dinner we gave her a cupcake to dig into. Meika really hasn't had too much variety of food, other than fruits and veggies, so this was a real treat for her. She was really funny to watch.

She had a great birthday. Crazy that she is a little one year old now. Adeline said, "Meika doesn't really act like a one year old now!" Silly girl. She is still a little baby :) She is all over the place now and getting into everything. I find her in situations like these:




Here one year Stats are:
-WEIGHT 17lbs 3 ounces 3%
-HEIGHT 17.7 inches (45cm) 41%

Meika at one year:

-loves to give kisses and even makes the lip smacking sound
-gives pretty good hugs
-good eater: loves carrots, sweet potatoes, beans, bananas, now strawberries, oranges, eggs, cheese, apple sauce and lots of other things
-loves her big sisters
-loves babies. She'll carry them around hugging and kissing them
-Sleeps 7:30-8:00 at the earliest.. sometimes 9 or 10am
-goes right down for nap time and bed time.
-loves her animal binkies and her "bear bear" (blankie). Never needs her binkie except when going to bed.
-has an incredibly big outie belly button
-loves getting in things (boxes, toy basket)
-starting to climb
-says baba, mama, dada. It sounds like she tries to say doggie and all done.. but not clear yet
-signs all done, more and please

Meika is my dream baby. She is so cuddly, happy and such a joy. We love you little Meika!!

Abe's 33rd

We celebrated Abe's birthday the beginning of January. We were able to go out for dinner and a movie, which is a rare occasion. I was a little sick of cake with the Holidays and other birthdays, so I decided to make Creme Brûlée. The girls love singing Happy Birthday and help opening presents.


I am so lucky to be married to this birthday boy. Every day I am reminded how good he is to me. Not only is he a wonderful husband, he is the best dad to our girls. They idolize him. Happy Birthday Abe!

New Year's Eve & Norah's 3rd Birthday

We celebrated Norah's birthday. I can't believe my little baby is already 3. She was so excited that it was HER birthday.


















Since Norah shares a birthday with New Year's Eve, we had some friends over and celebrated both.

Norah picked what the kids had for dinner: Eggs and Toast


We had some cupcakes





And we went outside and attempted to do sparklers. Unfortunately it was freezing cold and super windy. It lasted about 30 seconds.





The week after Norah's birthday, we had a birthday party for her. This was Norah's first real birthday party. Before hand, I asked Norah what theme she wanted for her party. I suggested My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake or a cupcake party. She turned to me and replied, "I want a PINK dragon party!" Silly girl. So that's what we did. A pink dragon party. Of course I am crazy and decided to make 10 dragon tails for the kids party favors.



I tried to get all the kids to stand together to get a picture and then Abe would set off a "flying dragon" and the kids would go crazy.

We pulled our couch away from the wall and with some blankets, we made a "dragon cave" the went around the entire room. The kids loved it!

We also played pin the tail on the dragon, but I am pretty sure every kid looked :)

Norah requested a pink dragon on the top of her cake.








Luckily my friend Kelsey was able to come and help me round up all the little dragons!



Norah

-still as sweet as can be
-Gives the best hugs and is a little cuddler
-very mature for her age
-has always been very compliant, but is getting sassier everyday
-Insists on only wearing dresses
-always pretending when playing with Adeline, her dolls, little animals, etc.
-loves to roughhouse
-Has the best belly laugh
-loves chocolate milk
-Loves to shake her booty
-Is my little homebody
-Is hilarious

I just love my little Norah. She is such a joy and we love her so much. It seems like everyone that meets her, immediately falls in love with her. Happy Birthday my sweet girl!
