Adeline Started Ballet/Dance

Last week was Adeline's first day of dance class. The teacher seems pretty strict and the parents are not allowed in the class room at all. There is a room right next door to the dance class and you can watch the class on a big screen TV. She is the youngest in the class and I was not to sure how well she would do. She listened and did whatever the teacher wanted her to do. She LOVED it! She is pretty much burned out from soccer and ends up laying on the floor half way through. She is one of the only girls and I think she is a little intimidated as well. SO I think dance will work out better for her. At the end of the year they have a performance at the theatre in costumes. Her dance is a combination of ballet, tap & gymnastics.

on the way to dance...

Pictures of Adeline in dance class on the TV screen :)

Look how much smaller Adeline is compared to all the other girls!!!

***
Since I did a Norah post last, I figured I would update on Adeline as well-

At 3 years 2 months Adeline is:

-more INDEPENDENT than ever!
-Thinks she is an equal to Abe & I... this makes it interesting. Whoever said 2 is hard was totally wrong. I thought 2 was pretty easy, but 3 is a lot more tricky!
-LOVES to dance
-LOVES to sing. Adeline is always making up songs. In her preschool class they sing "I love Adeline (or another kids name), Adeline is our friend, we love Adeline & here we go again!" She will add whatever to this song... "I love GOLDFISH, goldfish are my friend...."
-She is VERY creative and is alway making up stories and playing make pretend.
-Is showing a lot more interest in writing her letters.
-LOVES preschool and is mad if it is Saturday or Sunday and she can't go. Loves her teacher Miss Kelly.
-She is a little mommy & helper. The teacher says she is always trying to help the little kids when they need it. Like at snack time she helps all the kids open their snacks :)
-Still loves clothes and changes her outfit constantly
-Wants to go to the park everyday
-Is very in to talking on the phone right now. Either make pretend or to a real person.
-Is too much obsessed with chewing gum (but is great at it)
-Loves going on walks and throws a fit if we for some reason have to drive to school
-Still obsessed with "princesses & Dora"
-Loves her little sister Norah

Norah at 9 Months

I can't believe my baby is already 9 months old!! It is crazy to think that in 3 more months, which is nothing, she will turn one year. Abe and I always say that we feel our lives are flashing before our eyes. Here are some things about Norah at 9 months:

Stats at appointment:

Weight: 16 lbs 4 oz (9th Percentile)
Height: 26.25 inches (around the 9th percentile)
Can't remember her head, but it is in the same percentile, I think 60%?

She has dropped dramatically in her weight and height percentile, so the doctor was a little bit concerned about that. We have to go in one month for a weight check... surprise surprise. Same thing happened to Adeline at her 9 Month appointment. I figure my babies are all going to drop around this time frame to what they will normally will be. Norah is a GREAT eater and I am NOT worried!

At 9 months she:

-Crawls everywhere extremely fast
-Stands up to everything
-Tries to crawl up everything she can (stairs, etc.)
-Has 2 teeth on bottom, 1 on top that has popped through, and 1 more on top that will pop through any day
-Starting to get a lot of balance and can stand for a couple seconds when you let go of her
-loves mommy & daddy... especially daddy. She cries when he walks away from her
-Loves Adeline, even though she gets tormented by her. Adeline loves playing doctor with norah... this means that Norah gets pinned to the ground to get her temperature taken, listen to her heart beat, get a band aid, etc. Poor baby.
-Loves eating bitter biscuits, sweet potato baby food, peas with her fingers, and will pretty much eat anything and everything. She LOVES drinking anything.
-Says "uh uh" when she drops something (meaning uh oh). She is mimicking me when I say things. She almost says "doggy" (which was Adeline's first WORD... & will most likely be Norah's)
-LOVES our dog Chloe
-Two of her favorite things right now are standing up against our glass doors to look outside and playing in Chloe's water bowl. I keep the door closed to the bathroom where it is and whenever she sees the door open she beelines it to the bathroom. When I start running after her she goes even faster and starts laughing really hard.
-She is the HAPPIEST baby! Makes me want another one right now! She is so easy going and cute.
-Gives kisses randomly. I love it. Sometimes (most times) she give french kisses.
-Is playing by herself a lot and loves exploring
-Loves playing with the play kitchen
-Nickname: LIttle Gecko (she grabs onto you and pulls herself in constantly. As soon as you pick her up her hands are all over your face)

Claire Victoria

My darling new little niece Claire Victoria was born on October 2nd. I have only seen pictures, but she is ADORABLE. Supposably she has a dimple on each cheek. My parents are both out there, along with my other sister that lives there and I am DYING to fly to California. Sierra is due with a little boy the beginning of November, so looks like I will be planning a trip then to meet the little munchkins. Amanda and Mason, I am so happy for you guys! She is perfect.

Smart Start Soccer

Adeline started soccer last week and she had a blast. About 45 minutes into it she said "I'm done mom". She has been pretty worn out from preschool lately and is dragging by the end of the day. I loved watching her run around with her little shin guards on and kick the ball. She has so much energy and this is a perfect source for her to get it out... Plus Abe LOVES it since he has to be involved :)

I deserve the "Worst Mother of the Year" award....

So yesterday I got my friend (who just had a baby three weeks ago) to come to Parlee Farms with me. I wanted to check it out because I have a clients that wants me to take pictures of their kids there. So as we were driving there, Adeline starts whining that she wants her drink. She is sitting in the very back of my SUV with her little friend and in the middle are our two little babies. I told her no because I didn't want to have to throw a full sippy cup all the way to the back of the car. As she complained a little more, I thought I would try and throw it to her. In an effort not to crash my car I turned and threw the sippy cup at her. Well, I could tell as it was flying through the air that it was going to hit her in the forehead. It did. SMACK in the middle of her head... a FULL sippy cup. She started screaming bloody murder and turned and hid her head in the side of the car seat. I of course felt SOO bad and was also laughing a little bit because it was such a horrible throw (and a great shot at her head). She wouldn't talk to me or stop crying for a good ten minutes. When we were just around the corner from the farm I said " Hey Adeline, can you help me find the farm? I think it's right here!" She popped her head up and said "There it is!". Wow, she popped up her head up and recovered quickly after all that! She had snot all over her face and her hair was a mess.

So, when we actually got to the farm we had a blast. We had a picnic with our packed lunches, picked pumpkins, fed animals, ran around... etc. It was Anna's first time "out" with her newborn and she did really well!

Labor Day Weekend

This is now all out of order, but sometime in the last two weeks we visited both Kimball Farms & Walden Pond for the first time.

Kimball Farms was a lot of fun. They had mini golf, water bumper cars, animals & really good food and ice cream. We took Adeline's friend Benjamin with us since his mom had just had a baby. They loved miniature golfing! Benjamin was quite the pro and Adeline... well, she did alright. At first she was interested in trying to hold the club right and hitting the ball from the start. But not too long after that she was holding the club in all sorts of crazy ways and the ball would end up in her and and be place right next to the hole for an easy hit. I was getting a little frustrated that she wasn't trying, but Abe had to remind me that she is 3 and just let her have fun! We didn't do the water bumper cars because the kids were too little, but we did get some amazing lunch and ice cream!

We have been meaning to go to Walden Pond for awhile, but have never got around to it. It is practically right down the road from us and now I am disappointed that we did not take advantage of it all summer. It was busy when we went (because it was Labor Day), but we still had a good time. We took a lunch and hung out on a little beach there. The water is pretty shallow right off of the beach, which is nice for the kids to play in. I spent my time making little castles out of the sand for Adeline and then she would hurry and stomp them down. Abe took Norah for a walk around the entire pond and found out it is not very stroller friendly :) We will need to take another trip over there!

Raspberry & Apple Picking

Last weekend we met a new family that recently moved here on base. They have two darling little girls that are similar in age to our girls. On Thursday we decided to get together and take the girls up to Connor's Farm in Danvers, Ma and pick some fruit. We ended up picking raspberries & Apples. The girls LOVED it. It's so nice to have met a new friend with cute little girls!

Too tempting.....

And on to the Apples... these were much too tempting as well. As soon as they picked one, they wanted to take a bite :)
