Say hello to Adeline's new friends....

These are Adeline's new little friends. Every time I go to Meijer (it's kind of like a super walmart), I go by the fish so Adeline can see them. She LOVES fish. I was telling Abe awhile ago that I kind of wanted to buy her one. After all, they are only like $.13. Abe told me that we should wait till she is older and can take care of them herself... haha. What do you know, Abe bought Adeline two little Goldfish for Valentines Day. She asks me several times a day to see the fishies, so I will let her sit on the counter so she can admire them. Of course I have to watch her closely because she tries to stick her hands in and put objects in the bowl.

Little Cindy Lou Who?

Almost every time that I go anywhere (and I mean that), I am told that Adeline looks like little cindy lou who from the Grinch Stole Christmas (someone told me that yesterday). If someone doesn't tell me that she looks like her, they tell me that she looks like a little precious moments character that you buy from a Hallmark store (someone told me that this morning). It's pretty funny.

If you don't know what a precious moments character is, this is what they look like:

A week or two ago I blogged about me leaving Adeline naked to see if that would help her get potty trained. It didn't really work out too well. She would either go on the floor or not go at all the timeframe that she was naked. In fact, she NEVER had even gone on the potty. Last weekend, I sat Adeline on the toilet and she went pee. Ever since then, she has been going at least once a day on the potty. TODAY, she already has gone pee twice on the potty and poo once.... and she told me every time that she needed to go!! I am so excited! I hope that she is able to keep it up.

We finally got our Valentines done today. Adeline starting coloring them and putting stickers on them yesterday, but got a little worn out. She loves coloring and pretending to put glue on everything.

I've been trying to be better at doing little activities and such with Adeline every day. I decided to see if she would like play dough for the first time and she loved it. I was a little afraid that she was going to eat it, but she didn't even try to.

This past week Adeline spent a lot of time with her little friend Catherine. They are moving in just over a month and Adeline is going to be so sad!

My cousins Chelsea and Amelia were driving across the country and stayed with us for a couple of days. I loved being able to hang out with them and especially for them to get to know Adeline. I wish they could have stayed longer.

Chelsea and Adeline

I didn't have a picture of Amelia, but found this one on my computer that they took.... well one out of the 84 they took on my computer.

On a side note (even though my entire post is random anyway), I am watching American Idol and am pretty disappointed with who they are kicking off and keeping on. Come on, Tatiana is the most annoying girl I have ever seen in my life!!!!!

Plastic Surgery

Today I received plastic surgery. Never thought I would experience it. On Thanksgiving, my left ear decided to completely split open. Forever I had problems with that earring hole. Both of my ears were pierced bad or something. The holes were so low and my skin was so thin, that the holes just got bigger and bigger. I didn't even know that my ear had split open. My earring kept falling out, which wasn't unusual because my hole was so big sometimes it would completely fall through. Finally Abe told me to stop putting it back in because it was ripped. Whoops. Everyone told me that our insurance wouldn't pay for it because it is cosmetic (and we are military, so our insurance is pretty much 100%). So I went to a local plastic surgeon and had a consult. $250 per ear = $500. My right ear wasn't split open, but it was pretty saggy and had potential to rip open someday. WELL, I decided to try and see if the military would pay for it. After not even having to beg my doctor, he gave me a referral to plastic surgery. I was able to walk right in to the hospital, get my surgery done today and go back home within an hour to an hour and a half. And the cost? FREE!!! I love the military!! Adeline was free when I had her, all our appointments are free, prescriptions are free, and I just got plastic surgery for FREE!

18 Month Well Baby

Now that Adeline is 18 months, we had her well baby check up today.

Her Stats:

Weight: 19.2 lbs doesn't chart
height: 32 inches 60-70%
head: 46.5 cm

The doctor said that she is doing great and is well above her developmental milestones. There has got to be something not so good though, right? Well, Adeline is still well below the charts in her weight and has even dropped off a little more than last time. My doctor says he believes me when I say it is pretty normal in my family to be low or off on the charts, but he feels at this point we need to start doing some tests just to confirm either way. I am kind of annoyed by this, however I really like her pediatrician and I can understand where he is coming from. Now I am a little worried though that something is going to come out abnormal. I hope not! However, if everything is fine like I think... then they can all stop bugging me that she is so small!! His one concern is that she could have Celiac's Disease because she is so skinny and has a large little belly.... which is pretty normal too.... but we'll see what the results say.

SO... poor little thing had to get a catheter today and her blood drawn. She did so well and never even cried! I don't even think she realized that she was pricked and was getting her blood drawn because she was so excited about getting a sucker. What a champ! I was supposed to get her immunizations today, but I didn't want to put her through too much and will do it sometime in the next week.

Yesterday I did a little photo shoot to get some cute pictures for Valentines day. I took some of Adeline and my friends little girls. Here is a cute one of Adeline getting her "nacks" (fruit snacks). She will do anything for candy! I will post some more on Valentines day!

A girls best friend

TODAY.....

Adeline hit Chloe pretty hard with her doll and then decided to show her some love...

She danced like a cowboy like there was no tomorrow...

She sat at the table in a "big person" chair and refused to sit in her "baby chair"...

She gave us lots of kisses...

She got her first REAL big girl panties... even though they won't be used too often...

She asked where daddy was all day...

She begged and begged me for her "nacks" (fruit snacks)...

She pushed a shopping cart in the store all by herself...

She made me hold her hand so she could walk down the stairs forward like a big girl...

Ah, she is growing up so fast..............
