Frosting....sorry!

So I have had some requests for the frosting I used on the cookies. I totally forgot to mention it on my last post. The frosting recipe I use is just pretty basic. I use it for cakes too. Here it is!

Powdered sugar
butter/margarine
vanilla
milk

-pour powdered sugar into bowl. Add some butter. Add approximately 1 tsp. vanilla. slowly add some milk while mixing with an electric mixer. Do not add too much milk or frosting will be runny.

This Week....

It's been awhile since my last post and life has been a little bit crazy. First of all, Adeline has been pretty sick. She had a fever for four days, so I finally took her to the doctor just to find out she had a horrible ear infection. She also has a runny nose and a cough. Not to make it worse or anything, but 2 days ago her entire body had a horrible rash all over it that just kept getting worse. Yesterday we went to the doctor again, and found out that she is allergic to the antibiotic they put her on. Her rash is gone now, she is just still miserable....oh, I also think she is teething.....fun huh?! This week we have also been trying to prepare for our move since the packers are coming this Monday. I can't believe it is almost here!! Today, tomorrow and Friday I told my friend I would watch her little 23 month old since her day care provider is not available this week. Today was my first day taking care of her. She was actually pretty good and we had a good time, BUT Let's just say that I would NOT recommend having two kids right on top of each other. It is HARD!!

OK, here are a couple of pictures from this week.

Tonight I made Sugar Cookies. Tomorrow night is Abe's last MBA class since we are moving, so he suggested I make cookies. Remember when our mom's would make us cupcakes or something to take to class for our birthdays?? It seems kind of like that:) Haha. The recipe is actually my Great-Grandma's recipe and they are GOOD. My mom called me today and told me she is not doing too well and may not make it....so another reason to make them.

Here is the recipe for all you Bakers:
GREAT GRANDMA ANDERSON'S SUGAR COOKIES
3 C. Flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 sticks butter
1 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Mix the first 3 ingredients in a bowl. Cut the butter in as for pie crust. Mix the last 3 ingredients in a bowl and then add to the flour/butter mixture. Roll out and cut. Bake 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool then frost with icing. ENJOY!

Palm Springs

This past week I decided to drive to Palm Springs and spend time with my Grandma Smart, my parents, my sister Sierra and my niece Johanna. It was so fun seeing the babies play together. Jojo was always giving Adeline hugs and they even held hands when they were in their car seats. The trip would have been completed if Amanda was there. She had to work though and we missed her! We spent most of the time playing the game, Settlers of Catan....the best game ever. I would say that we are all a little obsessed.

When we arrived, Great-Grandma Smart picked Adeline a flower and she was very excited!

I bought this little floating thing for Addie so she could float in the water. Kind of a cool contraption. The only problem was that she would get so excited that she would submerge her face under the water. When she gets a little bigger it may be a bit more useful.

Here is cute little Jojo walking on the cover of the pool

Sierra and Jojo

Grandpa and Nana Smart with both the babies. Sooo Happy. I guess they are already having withdrawals.

Jojo had this little car and Adeline LOVED it. We pushed them around the condo in the car with Adeline sitting on Jojo's lap. It was so cute:)

I didn't take this picture in Palm Springs, but I just love it so much and had to post it.

Wild Thing

It seems like Adeline has changed so much in the past week. She is just so...wild. She wants to get into everything and she is so busy. She crawls in things, over things, up things, etc. This morning in church I put her on the floor for a minute, and before I knew it, she had made a run towards the front of the chapel. She had crawled right under the bench in front of us and just kept going. I was very embarrased having to stand up and run a couple of rows up to finally catch her since she wouldn't stop. Here are some pictures and videos of her the past week.
On Friday we went and visited Abe in his office after an award ceremony

When we got home, there were a couple of things I had to do. So, I let Adeline crawl into her room to play. A couple of minutes later, I heard her little "excitement voice" and went into the room to see what she was up to. She had crawled IN her carseat, was standing up and bouncing up and down with a big smile on her face. I couldn't believe it. She also crawled out of it all by herself. Good thing it didn't flip over!

Sorry this video is sideways.... but somehow Adeline knows how to dance...so here it is.

Easter

Happy Easter!
Adeline in her darling easter dress that grandma Smart gave her

Chloe even had a great easter! Her and her friend Gracie (on the left) played for awhile on the lawn while I took pictures of Adeline. Chloe is going to miss her friend when we move!

I made an easter basket for Adeline and she pretty much destroyed it. She had fun playing with the (empty) easter eggs all day long and her new little baby bunny doll.

Ohio Trip, New house!

So, we finally are back at home in California after two long weeks of traveling. We are very excited to not be living out of a suitcase anymore and sleeping either on a sailboat, or a hotel room. Our trip to Ohio however was successful in our house hunting. We purchased our first home in the town of Beavercreek, Oh. It is in our #1 area that we wanted to live in, and is only about 7 minutes away from where Abe will be going to school. It is 2 yrs old, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. As you can see from the pictures, we have a lot of painting to do! It will be an adventure when we move there the 1st of May!

Alright, this is my first time posting a video. We took a video of Adeline doing a "dolphin dive" in the hotel pool and thought it was pretty fun.

BVI Trip

Last weekend we returned from an amazing trip to the British Virgin Islands with the family. We lived on a sailboat and each day we sailed to a new island. All the islands were absolutely amazing...I am not quite sure which one was my favorite, because I loved them all! The only downfall about the trip was that I had to leave Adeline. It was so hard to leave her, but we both survived!

Here we are on our dingy. Every time we went out to eat or needed to get on land, this is how we traveled.

The whole family at the baths

Here is Mase doing a backflip off the sailboat

Me and Abe

Here we are ready to dive the "Wreck of the Rhone"

The whole family eating at a little place on Cooper island. The food was so yummy!

Me, Abe, Amanda and Mase at the baths. It was so beautiful there!

Right now we are in Ohio and just bought a house yesterday! I don't have anyway to download my pictures from here, so I will have to post pictures of our new house when I return to California.
