Steamboat Springs

In January we headed to Steamboat Springs and stayed in a Condo with Roni and Brett for the weekend. I loved just hanging out with them and letting the kids run around and play together. We went swimming, skiing, sledding, went to the hot air balloon festival and just sat around and talked. Steamboat Springs is such a cute little town. It reminded me of Park City and had some cowboy charm to it. Adeline loved skiing and was able to go night skiing two different times. She would have liked to have gone even more if she could have. She has absolutely no fear on skis and it is a little scary. One of the times I went with her I was trying to get her to turn. I would try to get her to follow me while I was turning and she would do it for a second. After a short time, she would get frustrated and would ignore me and do whatever she wanted. One night we took Meika skiing. I had wanted Norah to try it out the night before, but she refused as she had gone over Christmas in utah and thought it was too hard. The night Meika went, of course Norah changed her mind and said she wanted to go. Unfortunately I couldn't handle teaching both of them at the same time, so Norah had to stay behind. Meika was such a champ and had the best attitude. Not only was her attitude great, she was so good at skiing!!

Anders at 6 Months Old

Anders 6 Month Stats

Height: Almost 26 inches 31%
Weight: 15.1 lbs 8%
Head: 17.5 inches (?), 44.5cm 61%

At 6 months, Anders started sitting! He loved laying on his back and playing with his toes and would admire his hands quite often. I love this age because Anders would be completely content sitting up and watching everyone and everything around him. Still such a calm, lovable baby! When he got his 6 months shots, he got a big lump in his thigh from them. It has now been 5 months (I am updating this way late) and he STILL has it! The pediatrician said not to worry and that he would probably have it for awhile. Last week, some puss even came out of it and got me a little worried. Here is to hoping that it will go away!

Norah at 5 years old

It's crazy to think that Norah is already 5 years old. The time flies too quickly. I told Norah that she is not allowed to lose any teeth, because that means that she is getting older and is growing up!

Norah at 5:

- Has a heart of GOLD. She has a lot of compassion and is the sweetest little thing. If she sees someone around her that needs or wants something, she will give up whatever she has in a heart beat.
-Very caring and thoughtful
-Asks very deep and detailed questions
-Gets along with everyone and plays really well with both Adeline and Meika.
-Is a peacemaker
-Has some spunk in her
-She is a pretty good eater and some of her favorites are: carrots dipped in ranch dressing, mushrooms, shrimp, frozen gogurts, chocolate milk… she has lots of favorites and isn't too picky :)
-Loves riding her two wheeler and is extremely fast.
-She is a natural athlete
-Has a sense of humor
-Has gotten really social lately and wants to be around kids and play with friends
-Learned how to pump on the swing (at 5 1/2)
-Talks about Germany all the time and how much she misses it. She misses her friends, her teachers, the market and bagels and beans

We love our little Norah! She is a kid that everyone (kids and adults) want to be around and get to know her. She can be super sassy, but is also very sensitive and cuddly!

Utah after Christmas

The day after Christmas Grandma Dofi took my mom, Sierra, Amanda, me and all our girls to the Nutcracker and then we walked over to admire the candy windows. I have such great childhood memories of doing those exact things. I love that my kids got to experience them!

The week was spent hanging out with my sisters and all the kids. I hadn't seen them in such a long time! We wouldn't have driven back to Utah again since we were just there for Thanksgiving, but I insisted because I was dying to hang out with my sisters and their kiddos. Plus, I needed to meet Indie!

Norah's birthday/New Years Eve was a blast. I wanted Norah to have a real birthday party and feel special. She wanted to have it at the Kamas Rec Center, so that's what we did. I reserved the party room and we did pizza, cake and swimming. It was perfect because she had all her cousins and grandparents from both sides. I'm pretty sure that I took a handful more pictures, but now that I have procrastinated blogging, I have no idea where all my pictures are!!

New Years Eve was pretty cute. We had a nice dinner and the kids even got to sit at a fancy little table with candles and their own sparkling cider. My mom also got some party supplies for the kids and we celebrated early with them and watched footage of a the Times Square ball dropping from a past year.

2014 was a good year. We had some fun trips, the birth of little Anders, lots of visitors and our move to the States. It was a pretty busy one, but lots of memories were made!

The cherry on top from our trip to Utah was that some of our closest friends from Germany were in town for the Holidays. We met up with them at Cafe Rio one night and spent hours talking and hanging out. Earlier that day, we spent the afternoon at Meghan's house and all of us roommates were able to catch up and hang out. It's crazy how much we have grown!
