10 Year Anniversary

On August 26th we celebrated our 10 year anniversary. We went out to a nice dinner in Manitou Springs. I probably say this every year, but back when I said "yes" to Abe when he proposed to me, I knew that it was a good decision. Looking back, I realized that I didn't really know the extent to how good of a decision I made. The last 10 years have completely flown by and have been filled with adventure, communication, working together, parenting, happiness, traveling and most importantly, knowing that we can do anything and go anywhere in the world as long as we are together and a team. Love you Abe!

14 Months Update and 16 Month Stats

After cruising along furniture and taking one little step here and there for awhile, Anders is finally walking as he approached 15 months old!! It's funny because he went from showing almost no interest and not being even close to walking, to walking all over the place. His little feet take the quickest, tiniest little steps and it is so cute. I love little frankenstein, wobbly walkers. He went from being this quiet, obedient little baby (at church especially), to finding his voice, attitude and he is not very fun to take to church right now. He likes to be loud, run around and do whatever he wants. He is still as sweet as can be and we all just love him so much. This kid gets WAY too much attention and love. He wraps his arms around your neck tight and give the best hugs right now! He also loves giving kisses and showing affection. He still only really says, "Ball", "Dada", "Mama", "Dink" (for drink), and "ginky", for binkie. I am guessing he will be a really slow talker since Abe only speaks French to him and then everyone else of course speaks English.

First Day of School

Kind of crazy having my 3 little girlies in school this year! They were all really excited to attend their first day! Adeline is in 3rd Grade with Mrs. Kleine, Norah is in half day Kindergarten with Mrs. Cowan and Meika is in Preschool Mon-Thur halfway with Mrs. katie. Adeline scored the jackpot with her teacher this year and she is amazing! Norah's teacher is ok. She is somewhat nice, but she is in general has a pretty cold personality. It's a bummer because Norah went from being super excited to go to school and mad that she wasn't in full day, to wishing she never had to go. Overall she is a pretty good sport about it. You have to pay for full day Kindergarten here and it seemed silly to do since I have to pick Meika up at the same time anyway! Meika is loving school and is such a social butterfly. There goes my heart!

We got new renters in our Ohio house this summer, so I headed out there to turn it over to our new renters and do some updates. I don't look forward to the work I have to do, although I completely look forward to hanging out with my good friend Kara. I only wish we still lived next door to each other!

Surprise visit from Jojo, Adeline's 8th Birthday & Baptism

My parents had come out for Abe's promotion and decided to fly Jojo in to surprise Adeline on her 8th birthday. The doorbell rang and we had Adeline open up the door to find Jojo standing there. She was pretty shocked and it took her a minute to register that it was in fact Johanna and then they hugged forever. Adeline was in heaven having her there. She was able to Attend Adeline's friend birthday party, which was completely crazy. There were SO many girls and I was hoping to do the entire party outside. Of course about 5 minutes before everyone showed up, we had a downpour that didn't give up! I am so happy that my mom was there, because even with the two of us, it was pretty much impossible to have any control over the party. The couple days that Jojo was here, they played their little hearts out and of course we had to visit our favorite Yogurt joint, Lulus.

And just like that, the two 8 year olds were off on a vacation with my mom and dad. They were completely spoiled with activities, fun adventures and good company. They were in heaven.

The next weekend Abe and I drove out with the other kids so we could baptize Adeline and of course bring her home. She was baptized in a little pond in Oakley at my moms friends house. Adeline had been so worried about being baptized because she didn't want a ton of people huddled around staring at her. This was perfect because it was just family surrounding her in a quiet, beautiful setting. Afterwards we had a little barbecue.

I am so proud of my little 8 year old Adeline. She is one of the most determined and independent little girls I know. When she puts her mind to something, there is no turning back. She is beautiful, sweet, kind, loyal, hardworking, athletic and talented. Of course she still has some spitfire in her!
