My parents had come out for Abe's promotion and decided to fly Jojo in to surprise Adeline on her 8th birthday. The doorbell rang and we had Adeline open up the door to find Jojo standing there. She was pretty shocked and it took her a minute to register that it was in fact Johanna and then they hugged forever. Adeline was in heaven having her there. She was able to Attend Adeline's friend birthday party, which was completely crazy. There were SO many girls and I was hoping to do the entire party outside. Of course about 5 minutes before everyone showed up, we had a downpour that didn't give up! I am so happy that my mom was there, because even with the two of us, it was pretty much impossible to have any control over the party. The couple days that Jojo was here, they played their little hearts out and of course we had to visit our favorite Yogurt joint, Lulus.
And just like that, the two 8 year olds were off on a vacation with my mom and dad. They were completely spoiled with activities, fun adventures and good company. They were in heaven.
The next weekend Abe and I drove out with the other kids so we could baptize Adeline and of course bring her home. She was baptized in a little pond in Oakley at my moms friends house. Adeline had been so worried about being baptized because she didn't want a ton of people huddled around staring at her. This was perfect because it was just family surrounding her in a quiet, beautiful setting. Afterwards we had a little barbecue.
A glimpse into Adeline's Birthday Party
I am so proud of my little 8 year old Adeline. She is one of the most determined and independent little girls I know. When she puts her mind to something, there is no turning back. She is beautiful, sweet, kind, loyal, hardworking, athletic and talented. Of course she still has some spitfire in her!
